Yukon Millers

BOYS

Coach: Kevin Ritter

18-19 Record: 10-14

Coach Kevin Ritter only returns one starter from last years team, however they do return plenty of experienced players. “Overall we return more players with varsity experience that the previous season,” said coach Ritter. Carson Lambakis (5-9, Sr.) and Brayden Dutton (6-1, So.) will start at the guard positions. Dutton averaged 8.7 points and 3.3 assists per game last year while shooting 43 percent from the three-point mark. Zach Cantwell (6-5, Jr.) and Justus Reister (6-4, Sr.) are two big forward with plenty of hop in their step. Colby Baker (6-4, Jr.) will play guard giving the Millers a quick, athletic team that isn’t afraid to play defense. Also look for Dayne McBroom (5-10, Sr.) to contribute this season from his guard spot. “Lambakis provides leadership and is a returning starter at the point guard spot,” said coach Ritter. “Dutton, Baker and Cantwell played in several games off the bench and were a big part of our positive record the second semester of last season.” The Millers also added new assistant coach Antonio Ross. Coach Ritter coached Ross at Union High School before he finished his playing career at NEO and UCO.

GIRLS

Coach: Roy Wyckoff

18-19 Record: 6-17

The Lady Millers have worked hard this offseason to come together as a team and make this a season to remember. Kristen Readel (5-9, Sr.) and Jaylee Watson (5-6, Sr.) are two seniors that need to lead this team. Readel averaged 7.0 points and 2.7 rebounds while Watson went for 3.3 points, 4.9 rebounds and 2.2 assists. Meya Case (5-6, Jr.) is the team’s leading scorer accounting for 10.3 points with 3.0 rebounds and 1.9 assists per game. Sydney Brown (5-6, Jr.) is another player looking to score. Brown averaged 7.1 points and 4.9 rebounds last year. A’Munique Holmes (5-4, So.) and Audrey Boyd (5-5, So.) are two sophomores with big ceilings. Other players to look for include Nariyah Parks (5-4, So.), Maggie Scott (5-7, So.), Emily Islas (5-8, So.), Katelyn Biswell (5-11, So.) and Sydney Milles (5-7, Jr.). Also look for Rena Henson (5-5, Fr.) this season. The coaching staff for Roy Wyckoff includes Chaz Davis, Mike Morgan and Caitlin McGee.
