Edmond North Huskies

BOYS

Coach: Scott Norris

18-19 Record: 12-12

The Edmond North Huskies return all five starters from last year’s team that ended with a 12-12 record. While the record did not reflect what the team was hoping for, head coach Scott Norris says that his squad can grow from last season and make progress this year. “We have a great group of juniors on this years squad,” Norris said. “They got a ton of experience as sophomores last season. We want to play fast and really get better defending people this season.” Dalante Shannon (6-2, Jr.) averaged 16 points, five rebounds, and three assists per game last season at the guard position and will be leaned on to help lead the team. After tallying 10 points and 5.5 assists per game last season, guard Landry Harris (5-9, Jr.) is back to help lead the Huskies to a bigger season. Forwards Josh Price (6-3, Jr.) and Cameron Lee (6-2, Jr.) will look to anchor the frontcourt for the Huskies. Both averaged six points per game last season and will look to expand their impact on the team. Joell Wilson (6-1, Jr.) returns after tallying five points per game last season. Sam Walker (6-1, Jr.), Abraham Aghasedo (6-6, Jr.), and Caleb Sicard (6-2, Jr.) will all three be looked to make big impacts for Edmond North this season. Other players to watch are Garrett Krause (6-2, Jr.), Layton Moore (6-7, Jr.), and Zack Russell (6-0, Jr.).

GIRLS

Coach: Pete Papahronis

18-19 Record: 20-7

The Edmond North Lady Huskies are coming off a stellar season that saw them go 20-7 but fall short of hoisting the gold ball. They are returning four starters and are looking to make a deep postseason run. Sixth year head coach, Pete Parahronis, says this team has a lot of possibilities. “We lost our top scorer from last season, so I think we will be a deeper team this year,” he said. “We have two very good freshmen and I think we should be really competitive this season.” Megan Jackson (5-9, Sr.) and Graycen Holden (6-1, Sr.) will play important roles on both ends of the court. On the defensive side, they will lock down the frontcourt and try to fluster any shot attempts near the basket. Toni Papahronis (6-0, So.) and Jasmine Linton (5-4, Sr.) return this season and look to have a big impact on this season. Returners that will play a big role for this team will be Amaia Maxwell (5-6, Sr.), Riley Bleakley (5-6, Sr.), and Caitlin Chavez (5-9, Sr.). Other players to watch are Ataya Casaus (5-6, So.), Sayler Jerry (5-7, So.), Akajia Handsom (5-6, So.), Elle Papahronis (5-10, Fr.), and Laci Steele (5-9, Fr.).
