Last year was a rebuilding season for the Wolves after graduation took the bulk of experience from a team that made the state semifinals in 2017. As result, Davis took its lumps with the first losing season for the Wolves in recent history. But a lot of the guys that went through that are now proud seniors who want to get Davis football back on the winning track in their final season. It starts with quarterback Cole Martin (5-10, 175, Sr.) along with halfback Diego Moore (5-8, 160, Sr.) and fullback Cooper Webb (6-2, 240, Sr.). These three will be called on to make Parker’s wishbone offense put up some big numbers. There will also be solid experience in the line to open the holes for the skilled players with big Greg Billy (6-4, 300, Sr.) along with Justin Ross (5-9, 230, Sr.) and center Tanner Claxton (5-9, 165, Jr.). Parker says the wishbone option will still be the main focus but he would like to pass the ball a little more this year to give opposing defenses something else to think about.

Like the offense the defense will be anchored by a proud and talented group of seniors with a handful of returning starters. Webb will return at nose guard and Martin to an outside linebacker spot where he’ll be joined by Dane Parker (5-9, 190, Sr.). In the defensive backfield Toby Taliaferro (5-8, 155, Sr.) and Trey Parker (5-8, 150, Sr.) will be the mainstays for the Wolves running out of the 3-4 set. “We took our lumps last year but finished the year strong (winning three of the last four games). It’s our job as coaches to put the team in a position to win and I believe that we will rebound this year because of everyone’s commitment. This group of seniors is ready to put their stamp on Davis football,” said Parker.
