OFFENSE

Coach Steve Edwards has a young ball team with some good talent in key spots. Last season the Warriors finished 2-8, but with six starters returning to the offense, Edwards and the team are excited about taking the field. Makai Blades (5-10, 165, Sr.) is a versatile player expected to step in and get more carries at running back or spread out at wide receiver. The team is looking to get the ball in the speedster’s hands. West Jones (5-10, 175, Sr.) could be the go-to tight end in the multi-I offense the Warriors are looking to run this season. Shawn Fairly (5-9, 275, Sr.) and Ryan Winn (6-3, 240, Jr.) anchor the offensive line. Cayden Willingham (5-8, 160, Jr.) adds depth at running back and Matt Vandevander (5-9, 165, Jr.) appears to be the man at quarterback.

DEFENSE

Jones and Fairly will give the Warriors two pass rushers up the middle of the defensive line. Rhythm Smith (5-10, 170, Jr.) and Gus Edwards (5-8, 170, Jr.) shore up the linebacker spot as both guys look to rock anyone with the ball. Drake Poth (5-9, 170, Jr.) joins Willingham in the defensive backfield. Both guys can canvas the secondary and force falsely confident quarterbacks to make mistakes. The coaching staff includes Trent Cleveland, Bo Farrow, Izzy Maselera, Ty Bowling, Gabe Ellis, Ted Smith and Paul Fehrenbacher. Ellis was the head coach at Mounds before leaving for Glenpool and Farrow was a GA at Pitt State.
