OFFENSE

“We are really excited about the season and looking forward to this group of seniors getting their chance to show what they can do,” said head coach Frank Howard. That senior group is evident in the depth chart at wide receiver with Jared Schnoebelen (6-1, 205, Sr.), Dillon Kahoe (5-10, 150, Sr.) and Hayden Stewart (5-11, 155, Sr.) all returning. Along the offensive line the play of Bayler Hensley (6-0, 210, Jr.) and Garrett Harris (6-2, 225, Sr.) will set the tone for the offense in 2018. The work of Hensley and Harris will pay off for Kole Crawford (6-0, 210, Jr.) at running back.

DEFENSE

The Bearcats will transition to a 3-4 base defense which coach Howard hopes will lead to a very aggressive, attacking defense in 2018. With lots of experience returning and hungry to earn victories this season it will all start at linebacker with Schnoebelen, who totaled 97 tackles last season, along with Kole Crawford (29 tackles) and Lance Bolar (6-0, 165, Jr.) who totaled 75 tackles and a sack as a sophomore. Landyn Crawford (6-0, 150, Jr.) could line up in the box at linebacker or drop into the secondary which gives the coaching staff options especially as the season progresses and players deal with bumps and bruises. The defensive line will be anchored by Harris, following his 74 tackle and three sack junior campaign, along with James Phelps (6-1, 200, Sr.) who totaled 59 tackles last year.
