The Bulldogs will return six starters to the offense. The team is ready to “pound the rock,” in the words of new head coach Johnny Ray. Anchoring a big offensive line will be Keegan Martin (6-2, 290, Sr.). Behind the line, Coach Ray is relying on his running backs to put in some work. There is no shortage of them, so expect fresh legs on the field at all times. Marco Hernandez (5-10, 170, Sr.) will lead the pack as a tailback. Jerrod Foster (6-0, 195, Sr.) will be an asset as a fullback. Austin Moore (5-11, 175, Sr.) will be another running back to keep your eyes on. At the quarterback position, look for Cary Farmer (5-8, 150, Sr.) or Justin Foster (5-11, 150, Sr.). It is likely that is Farmer will add to the run game wherever he is on the field.

The defense also returns six starters, and you may expect a stout and disciplined defense that will play with emotion. A couple of familiar faces on this side of the ball will be Martin at defensive end and Jerrod Foster as a linebacker. Quincy Fritchman (5-9, 180, Sr.) will fill the other defensive end spot. Coby Prather (5-9, 170, Jr.) will be another linebacker to watch for. Kamden Mayo (5-11, 250, Sr.) will lock down the line as nose guard.

Coach Ray is excited to get his first year with the Bulldogs underway. After having them for a couple weeks of spring ball and a team camp, he saw some big improvements and knows that they have much more potential to go. He says that the new system seems to fit the team well. Now that Yale is back in eight-man the prospects look good.
