Entering his ninth season as the head coach of the Oaks Mission Warriors, CD Thompson is excited to see how his younger players will develop and what that will mean to the overall success of the program this season.

“We have a young team so we may take our lumps this season, like last. We need good play from our younger players, grow as a team and do what we need to do,” said coach Thompson.

Aaron Budder (5-8, 145, Jr.) is a player to watch in the passing game. Budder will start at wide receiver giving quarterback Shawn Reed (5-10, 195, Fr.) a target to throw to. Reed is only a freshman, but is showing signs of a good ball player. Coach Thompson plans to play him at linebacker on defense. Jackson Ross (5-9, 280, Jr.) runs the offensive line and like most of the Warriors, will go both ways. Bryant Odell (5-9, 200, Fr.) joins Ross up front with Tree Sanders (5-4, 125, Sr.) figuring into the scheme at several different positions.

Orin Twist (5-2, 120, So.) leads the defense from his corner/safety spot with linebacker Brett Hogshooter (5-8, 215, Fr.). Hogshooter will also play fullback on offense giving the Warriors a guy that can pound the ball for tough yards. Ross will play nose guard, a position he is familiar with in the 3-2 defense. Carlos Benderos (5-9, 105, Fr.) is another young player looking to leave his mark on the program. Benderos will start at corner and is athletic enough to play some running back and wide receiver. Budder will also start in the secondary for the Warriors.
