With six returning starters from last seasons 6-5 team, Perkins-Tryon is looking to build on some of the success they had a year ago. In his fifth season as head coach, Bruce Williams may have the team that can grab more wins and make a deeper run into the playoffs.

Leading the way is quarterback Austin Mages (5-11, 180, So.) Only a sophomore, Mages will have plenty of weapons to choose from this season. Ty Hill (5-11, 160, Sr.) is one of them. Hill is a quick runner with excellent vision. His senior leadership will go a long way on the field and in the locker room. Caden Williams (5-10, 150, Sr.) is one of two targets in the passing game Mages will have this season. Also look for Cole Aldridge (6-0, 180, Jr.). Ayron Lawson (5-6, 145, Jr.) is a nice change-of-pace running back the Demons will use in the spread formation. Look for Lawson to work his way into the passing game. Up front the Demons feature senior Seth Thomas (5-8, 250). Thomas, a tough and gritty player, will work to make the offensive line better as younger players step up to the challenge.

“We have a lot of younger guys eager to earn their spots. It should be a fun and exciting season,” said coach Williams.

Everything for the Demon defense starts up front. Led by Alton Allen (5-7, 235, Jr.), the defense will look for Allen to get a strong push up the middle, giving the linebackers an opportunity to roam free. Hill and Kenny Bell (So.) will start at linebacker with Lawson playing on of the outside linebacker spots in the 3-4. Conner Williams (6-3, 185, So.) is a young, but talented player one the line with Allen. Aldridge will step to the defensive side of the ball where he will start at one of the corner spots for coach Williams.

The coaching staff includes Russell Longbrake, Chuck Taylor, Jeremy Love, Ricard Reed, Aaron Barta, Wil Anderson, Eric Stevenson, and John Dexter.
